About us

We are Zoltán and Eva, a Hungarian-Dutch couple who got to know each other through surfing, travelling and working in surf camps. Our adventure went on and together we discovered many things all over the world and along the Atlantic coast of Southwest Europe. Rico from studisurf supports our new project and markets it on his homepage. We worked together in France for many years.

We have found interesting places and people everywhere who share our love for the sea. All these encounters have inspired us to create our own paradise by the sea, where nature and culture meet and where through our way of life we can attract other like-minded people to us. Our name, Magnet, stands for this attraction.

The two poles of the magnet symbolize nature & culture, which mean so much to us. Nature stands for surfing and a simple and healthy life. Culture for us means all the wonderful things we can create, people like art, music, fashion and gastronomy.

Through our positive attitude we want to pull you out of the rat race of everyday life and show and enjoy the real values of life together.


COSTA DA CAPARICA

Caparica, the 'beach-town' of Lisbon is located about 15km from the city centre on the southern bank of the river Tagus. A lot of sun and constant waves await the travellers and surfers all year round.

Breathtaking sunsets and the night lights of Lisbon are just some of the undiscovered treasures of the southern coast.

The combination of nature & culture, surfing & big city offers an exciting mix for the tourists.

LISSABON

The sunniest capital on the European Atlantic coast offers a great diversity of architecture, culture and gastronomy. From the historic district of Belém to the lively area of Alcântara, from the fado in Bairro Alto to the diverse markets of Cais do Sodré, Lisbon has something for everyone. Compared to other Western European cities, Lisbon is still cheap and if you want to celebrate a long night, this is the perfect location.

Surf course
At the Magnet Projects surf course we want to work differently than it was usual in the known surf camps.

Your surf instructor Zoli comes from Hungary. He didn't learn surfing at Lake Balaton but with his years of experience in France as a surf instructor and worldwide surf trips you are in good hands. Zoli was also one of the three best surfers of the Hungarian Championships.

For us it is important that you not only learn with safety and fun, because we also want to show you how to become independent surftravellers later on.

We are 'early birds', which means we like to get up early so that we can catch the best conditions of the day (little wind and few people in the water).

A big advantage of Costa da Caparica is that you can teach surfing in almost all tides. This is why we are not so exposed to the Portuguese heat and the tourist masses of Lisbon.

We have a good selection of wetsuits and surfboards in different sizes, which means we can adapt the board to your skill level.

The water temperatures in Caparica are quite pleasant and we are well equipped with 4'3 wetsuits.

We offer surf courses for beginners, slightly advanced and intermediate surfers.

It is also possible to book private progression sessions where you will be trained with live video coaching. Dry training like Beach Simulations and Carver Skatesurf Exercise Sessions are also possible.
The surf package also includes a theory lesson where you can learn about weather, waves, tides, equipment and surf rules.
